Creating and finding screenshots

Most games let you press "PrtScn" (print screen) to take a screenshot during play. You'll find the resulting image files in locations such as:

  • C:\Program Files\World of Warcraft\Screenshots\
  • C:\Program Files\Guild Wars\Screens\
  • C:\Program Files\City of Heroes\screenshots\

Refer to your game's documentation if you need help finding the location of its screenshots and how to take screenshots. Some console games even allow you to use USB memory sticks to grab screenshots from the game.

Issues uploading files

If you're having problems uploading files, please try converting them to jpeg first.

Games like World of Warcraft generate screenshots as tga, and these are very large files. It helps us out a lot if you use a highly compressed web-friendly format.

These programs are available for free for Windows, and will help you convert your files:

Formatting text in comments and screenshot descriptions

We use a shorthand notation known as "textile", and links magically turn into the correct HTML, so you don't need to type any tags.

These are the formatting shortcuts available:

_emphasis_
*strong*
-deleted text-
+inserted text+
^superscript^

Becoming a moderator

If you love our site, we may invite you to help moderate content. This involves making sure screenshots are actually screenshots (you'd be surprised what people try and post).

Please do not ask to become a moderator, but don't hesitate to get in touch if you have ideas on how to improve the service.
